Northern Form was established by Alison Scott, an architectural designer with a First-Class degree in Architecture and extensive experience across residential design, planning and project delivery.
Alison Scott
Having grown up in the region, Alison brings a deep understanding of Yorkshire's landscapes, villages and building traditions, which strongly informs her work. She is particularly drawn to projects rooted in place, from sensitive new homes to the transformation of existing buildings, including barns, outbuildings and overlooked or unloved houses.
Calm, organised and detail-focused, Alison combines strong design thinking with practical delivery. Clients value her ability to guide projects clearly from early feasibility through planning, technical design and build, offering consistent advice and steady support throughout.
At its core, Northern Form is about making spaces better, more thoughtful, more functional and more special for the people who live in them.

Northern Form is a small, focused studio led by Alison, supported by a trusted network of consultants and specialists who share the same commitment to quality and careful design.
Depending on the project, this may include structural engineers, planning consultants, heritage specialists, landscape designers and sustainability advisors. Each team is assembled to suit the specific needs of the project, ensuring the right expertise is in place at the right time.
